Rex Remake
Introduction
Rex came out in 1988/89 on the ZX Spectrum and is a beautiful example of a metroidvania style platformer. It is very difficult (one shot kills), full of particles, explosions, lovely animation. I'm trying to recreate this as close to 100% accuracy as possible. With my own tools (can be found at https://retrospec.sgn.net) I created all the maps and graphics from the original. So what you see currently is the beautiful work of the original team, but coded from the ground up. Later new graphics will appear.
I am keeping the style but upgrading with particle effects, shaders, improved gameplay, etc.
Happy to accept play-testers or people who want to contribute in any way (ideas, thoughts, offers such as story telling, graphics, sound, music, etc). Contactme from this site, twitter, etc (https://chucklepie.itch.io/)
